Guideline for Repurposing Existing Carbon Steel Pipelines for CCS and CCUS Projects

Stress Engineering Services, Inc. (SES) was contracted by PCOR Partnership to prepare a comprehensive guideline for repurposing existing carbon steel pipelines for use in carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) and carbon capture utilization and sequestration (CCUS). This guideline primarily covers two pipeline scenarios: a pipeline that had not previously been exposed to H₂S is being considered for a stream of CO₂ now containing H₂S, and a pipeline that had been previously exposed to H₂S is now being considered for use with a clean CO₂ stream without H₂S.
