Overview, status, and future of the Fort Nelson CCS project
The Plains CO2 Reduction Partnership, led by the Energy & Environmental Research Center, and Spectra EnergyTransmission (SET) are investigating the feasibility of a carbon capture and storage project to mitigate carbondioxide (CO2) emissions produced by SETs Fort Nelson Gas Plant in British Columbia, Canada. The project appliesan integrated philosophy combining geologic characterization, modeling, risk assessment, and monitoring into aniterative process, producing superior-quality results during the project feasibility and development periods. Results todate suggest that the geology and hydrogeology of the project area are amenable to large-scale, long-term geologicstorage of CO2.View/Download Document
