Current Status of CO2 Capture Technology Development and Application
This document, prepared by the EERC, provides an overview of the current status of carbon capture technology development and application. The overview covers technologies that apply to the three combustion platforms: precombustion, during combustion (oxycombustion and chemical-looping combustion), and postcombustion. The technologies reviewed fall into the categories of physical and chemical absorption; physical and chemical adsorption; oxygen-, hydrogen-, and CO2-permeable membrane processes; cryogenic processes; mineralization; and photosynthesis and chemical and biochemical reduction processes. The document provides an overview of the technical basis for each separation technique and information on nearly 100 technologies and/or research efforts.;View/Download Document
